Renowned Photographer John Fielder to Present Photos and Speak at Douglas County Libraries

Douglas County Libraries (DCL) will host an evening with Colorado’s preeminent nature photographer John Fielder at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, at its Castle Rock location (Philip S. Miller branch, 100 S. Wilcox St.). At the event, Celebrating Colorado’s National Parks and Monuments, Fielder will talk about and present his collection of photos of Colorado’s federal lands.

Fielder has been capturing the natural beauty of Colorado landscapes for 40 years. He is a nationally renowned photographer, publisher, teacher and environmentalist who first became smitten with Colorado at the age of 14.

Fielder is the photographer of more than 40 coffee table, guide and children’s books, including Colorado’s bestselling regional title, “Colorado 1870-2000” (William Henry Jackson and John Fielder). He is dedicated to promoting the protection of Colorado’s open space and wildlands, and was awarded the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award, the University of Denver’s Daniel L. Ritchie Award, and the University of Colorado’s Distinguished Service Award.
