Library’s Annual Fundraising Gala Is a Party in the Jungle

For immediate release: September 4, 2019

Douglas County Libraries (DCL) and the DCL Foundation are excited to host the Foundation’s Fifth Annual Fete des Fables Gala – The Jungle Book on Friday, September 27, from 6-11PM at CU South Denver. This event celebrates the library’s important literacy and library programming that makes a difference in the Douglas County community, and raises funds in support of ongoing programs.

“This year’s gala will be an inspiring and fun-filled evening for guests and a great opportunity to support the library,” said DCL’s Donor Relations Liaison Elaine McCain.

Guests will enjoy a sumptuous plated dinner, cocktails, lively music and entertainment, and a fun silent auction while celebrating a classic story, “The Jungle Book,” in a whimsical setting.

Dollars raised support scholarships for DCL programs like Camp DCL and high school equivalency testing, early childhood literacy programs, and other important programs that reach youth, adults and families in Douglas County and across Colorado.

Susan James’ son, Liam, was able to attend Camp DCL this year through a scholarship granted by the DCL Foundation. “Liam had a hard year with school friends,” James said. “This camp was a shining light for him. He grew in new ways and we have new friends to play with.”
